In the Russian Federation there are several holidays celebrated at the state level. Some of them are declared public holidays, so even those who are not particularly interested in history and political life will not be able to forget about them. But the calendar is replete with other memorable milestones that deserve the attention of Russians no less than the rest. We suggest recalling the significant and memorable dates of 2020 for months for the Russian Federation. The list includes literary, historical, geographical anniversaries, as well as annual holidays celebrated in Russia.
1 - The onset of the new 2020, the celebration of which coincides with World Peace Day.
8 - the birthday of Galina Ulanova, the legendary and most titled ballerina in Soviet history (110 years).
15 - Sofya Kovalevskaya, the first woman scientist in the world to receive the title of professor of mathematics, will turn 170 years old.

18 - memorial day of the Russian painter A.G. Venetsianova, who became famous as a master of depicting scenes from the life of peasants. The founder of the Venetian school in 2020 marks 240 years.
21 - 115 years old would have turned the Soviet director of animated films Lev Atamanov. His most famous works are “Kitten named Woof”, “Snow Queen”, “Parsley”, etc.
24 - Shrovetide begins, which is celebrated annually for a week before the beginning of Lent. “Pancake week” is dedicated to the celebration of the beginning of spring, accompanied by festivities and compulsory visits.
On the same day it will be possible to celebrate the anniversary of D.E. Rosenthal. The Russian linguist, who was born in 1900, turns 120 years old.
1 - a memorable date for all fans of classical music. 210 years since the birth of the Polish composer and pianist Frederic Chopin. The famous representative of Western European musical romanticism is highly revered in Russia, although historically it has nothing to do with the country.
6 - it is impossible not to mention the 545th birthday of the sculptor and artist Michelangelo Buonarroti. Also on this date, but much later (in 1925), “Pioneer Truth” was founded. The legendary children's newspaper turns 95 years old.
8 - exactly 110 years ago, on March 8, 1910, Clara Zetkin was invited to annually hold the International Day of Solidarity of Working Women of all countries. The holiday became especially popular in the territory of the post-Soviet space, although here it began to be celebrated only in 1913.
The 10th - 120th birthday of another prominent cultural figure - Yuri Alekseevich Vasnetsov. He is known primarily as the creator of numerous children's magical illustrations, for which he was nicknamed the “fairy tale painter”.
March 18 is the five year anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. The historic event of the peninsula joining the Russian Federation was enshrined in a Presidential decree in 2014.
The same day is of particular importance for astronautics. 55 years ago, on March 18, 1965, Alexei Leonov made the world's first access to open space, for which he was awarded the title of Hero of the USSR.
21 - another legendary composer “celebrates” his 2020 anniversary. 335 years will be I.S. Bahu, which does not require a special presentation.
12 - World Aviation and Space Day. In the coming year, it coincides with the Orthodox holiday Palm Sunday.
13 - The Russian Museum was founded in St. Petersburg. In 2020, he will celebrate his 125th anniversary.
15 - International Day of Culture. The date will be celebrated by the Russians for the 85th time.

15 - 85 l. since the founding of the Moscow Metro, one of the six largest world “subways”.
18 - Baltic Fleet Day. The date was chosen to mark the great victory of the Russian flotilla under the leadership of Peter the Great over the Swedish military courts in 1703.
24 - Day of Slavic writing and culture was established as a tribute to the enlightenment of Cyril and Methodius. It is noted in many Slavic countries.
27 - a significant day for libraries, which 25 years ago was assigned the status of an all-Russian holiday.
30 is the largest anniversary of 2020, the 800th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Nevsky, the great commander who the church ranked as a saint and did not lose a single battle in his life.
6 - Pushkin day, is celebrated annually on the birthday of the great poet.
7 - Trinity.
10 - in 1930 the Russian artist-painter Ilya Glazunov was born. A folk artist could celebrate his ninetieth birthday, but did not live to see him for 3 years.
12 - Day of Russia, a public holiday and an official day off.
16 - 95th anniversary of the children's health resort Artek, the most famous pioneer camp of the Soviet Union.
29 - the date dedicated to all partisans and underground members was established 10 years ago.
7 - a memorable day in the Russian Federation, established in honor of the victory of the Chesmensky battle with the Turkish fleet for the Russian army, which took place 250 years ago.
26 - Navy Day, celebrated on every last July Sunday.
28 - Baptism of Rus. The celebration is established at the federal level and has been officially celebrated for 10 years. Since the adoption of Christianity by Prince Vladimir, 1032 years have passed.
31 - Oleg Popov, a favorite of the public, circus artist, actor and director, could celebrate his ninetieth anniversary.

30 - 160th anniversary of I.I. Levitan, the greatest Russian landscape painter.

2 - 75 years ago, the Second World War ended with the signing of the act of Japanese surrender.
7 - one of the authors of the humorous newsreel for children "Jumble", A.G. Khmelik could celebrate his 95th birthday.
The 11th - 230th anniversary of the victory of the Russian squadron over the Turks near Cape Tendra.

24 - On this day 75 years ago, the UN was established to strengthen international relations and maintain peace.
26 - congratulations will be able to receive all employees of school libraries. An international holiday is celebrated every fourth Monday of October.
4 - National Unity Day, established in memory of the liberation of Moscow from Polish invaders by the forces of Minin and Pozharsky in 1612
The 19th anniversary of the birth of the Russian navigator Ivan Kruzenshtern (250 years). He went down in history as an admiral who headed the first Russian circumnavigation of the world.
The 20th anniversary year of 2020 could also be for yet another ballerina, Maya Plisetskaya, whose entire birthday has passed as much as 95 years.
24 - all mothers can accept congratulations, because since 1998 their day in the Russian Federation has been officially fixed and is celebrated on the last November Sunday.
1 - World AIDS Day is called to draw attention to the problem of HIV.
3 - Russian memorial date dedicated to all unknown soldiers.
12 - Constitution Day of the Russian Federation. The holiday is not an official weekend, but is widely celebrated in political and public circles. And on this day, all connoisseurs of the Russian hit will remember the Soviet composer Vladimir Shainsky on his 95th birthday.
17 - another legendary classical musician will remind himself of himself with an anniversary date. 250 years will be executed by Ludwig van Beethoven.
24 - 230-year-old date of a successful assault on the Turkish fortress of Izmail. The victorious battle was conducted by the Russian army led by A.V. Suvorov.

As you can see, the year 2020 will be rich in significant and jubilee dates that will allow recalling a galaxy of outstanding personalities and significant events. Unfortunately, it is not possible to add absolutely all anniversaries of the coming year to the list, and this is another reason to look at the calendar and take an interest in history and art on your own.
